What Otrivine Antistin Eye Drops Are Used For

Otirvine Antistin Eye Drops provide the temporary relief of redness and itching of the eyes due to seasonal and perennial allergies such as hay fever or house dust allergy.

How to Use Otrivine Antistin Drops

Adults and children over 12 years: 1 or 2 drops instilled 2 – 3 times a day.
Children:Otrivine-Antistin is not recommended for use in children younger than 12 years of age.
Elderly: One drop instilled 2 to 3 times a day.

Otrivine Antistin Eye Drops should not be used for more than seven consecutive days.

The dispenser remains sterile until the original closure is broken. Avoid allowing the tip of the dispensing container to contact the eye or surrounding structures as this may contaminate the solution.

Precautions and Warnings For Use

Like other topically applied ophthalmic drugs, Otrivine-Antistin may be absorbed systemically and occasionally cause systemic sympathomimetic effects such as hypertension, nervousness, nausea, dizziness, headache, insomnia, palpitation, tachycardia, and arrhythmia.

Otrivine-Antistin should be used with caution in elderly patients with severe cardiovascular disease, including arrhythmia, poorly controlled hypertension, or diabetes.

Use with caution in the presence of hypertension, cardiac irregularities, hyperthyroidism diabetes mellitus or phaeochromocytomas.

Otrivine-Antistin should also be used with caution in patients with conditions causing urinary retention such as prostatic hypertrophy and should also be used in caution in patients who are currently receiving other sympathomimetic drugs

Not suitable for patients suffering from dry eyes without first seeking medical advice. Rebound hyperaemia may follow prolonged frequent use. Otrivine-Antistin should not be used without supervision over a long period of time.

If the symptoms do not improve after 2 days, medical advice should be sought to rule out the possibility of a bacterial infection. Inflammation arising from infection should receive appropriate anti-bacterial therapy.

Eye drops are not for injection. They should never be injected subconjunctivally, nor should they be directly introduced into the anterior chamber of the eye.

Place the brush on the area of the teeth where it meets the gum. Start on the top right on the outside of the teeth, near the cheek and work your way around to the top left side. Repeat for the inside of the teeth (near the roof of your mouth). Brush the biting surfaces of your teeth. Repeat for the lower teeth. Brushing should take 2 mins.

Directions For Use

Soak the wart in warm water for 5 minutes prior to application. Dry gently using a towel that will not be used by anyone else to avoid contamination. Gently file the wart with an emery board or pumice stone to remove hard skin. Carefully apply the solution to the wart. Be careful not to touch the surrounding healthy skin. Allow to dry thoroughly before covering with a plaster. Continue treatment until either the wart has cleared completely and normal skin ridge lines can be seen, or the wart has been treated for 12 weeks.

If you are diabetic or suffer from poor circulation please speak to your doctor before using this product.

Storage

Flammable; keep away from fire, ensure that the bottle is capped tightly and stored upright. Store below 25ºC. Close cap firmly after use.

Product Specific Warnings

Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes. Do not inhale the vapour. Do not use on damaged or irritated skin. Avoid contact with clothing, fabric and plastics as well as jewellery. Do not use on open skin wounds, moles, birthmarks, warts with hairs growing from them, warts on the face or those near the anal or genital areas, and do not use on warts with red edges or those with an unusual colour.

You Must Be Aged Over 18 Years to Purchase This Product.  Exputex contains the active ingredient carbocisteine which breaks down mucus. Who can use? This product can be used by adults and children over 2 years of age. How to use?
  • Children 2 – 5 years give one 2.5ml spoonful 2 to 3 times daily.
  • Children 6 – 12 years give one 5ml spoonful 2 to 3 times daily.
  • Adults and children over 12 years initially take 15ml (three 5ml spoonful’s) three times a day, reducing to 10ml (two 5ml spoonful’s) three times daily when the satisfacory response is obtained.
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding. Exputex should not be used if you are pregnant or breastfeeding unless directed by your doctor. Driving or using machinery. Exputex does not normally produce any effects on ability or drive or use machinery. Possible side effects As with all medicines, Exputex Oral Solution can have side effects.
