Horse chestnut is probably the most popular herb used in the treatment of varicose veins. It is the seeds of the horse chestnut tree which are used medicinally - and these are the same seeds gathered each autumn for the game of conkers.
The botanical name of the horse chestnut tree is Aesculus hippocastanum and because of this, horse chestnut seed preparations are sometimes also known simply as Aesculus.

Ingredients
This medicinal product contains 38-42 vol % ethanol (alcohol), i.e. up to 163mg per 2 sprays, equivalent to 3.7ml beer (less than a teaspoon) or 1.5ml wine (less than half a teaspoon) per dose.
Usage
Adults and the elderly:Â 2 sprays 6-10 times daily.
