NUK Nipple Shields: a pleasant breastfeeding experience for mother and child
Breastfeeding allows you and your baby to get to know each other particularly well and intensively and to experience a feeling of security and closeness. However, sometimes breastfeeding is difficult due to irritated or inflamed nipples. In such situations, the NUK breast shield can help because it relieves the sensitive nipples during breastfeeding and at the same time allows calm and natural sucking. How to put on the NUK breastfeeding shield correctly:
To find the right size for you, you should ask yourself a few questions in advance: Does the breast attachment feel comfortable to wear? Does the nipple fill the hollow space of the shield? Do the baby's lips completely surround the attachment? If you can answer these questions with "yes", you have found the right size for your Nipple Shield and can start using it. You should follow these steps so that your little darling can enjoy his drink:
- Before using the Nipple Shield, you should wash your hands thoroughly and clean the breast with a damp cloth.
- The grip of the NUK Nipple Shields can be increased by slightly moistening them with water or breast milk.
- For an optimal position on the nipple, pull the contact surfaces of the cone towards the tip to be able to place it easily in the middle; then you can put the contact surfaces back and align them according to the desired breastfeeding position.
- After each application, you should clean the breast with water to remove milk residues and thus avoid germs.
How to clean the nursing shield
Handling your baby requires a high level of hygiene at all times. After using the Nipple Shield for breastfeeding, it is best to clean it immediately with warm water and a gentle rinse aid. Afterwards, it can dry in a hygienic environment. The supplied protective box is recommended for subsequent storage. You should disinfect or boil the breast shield daily. This can be done in the NUK steam sterilizer conveniently and easily within a few minutes. Cover the shield completely with water to avoid damage and boil it quickly. If looked after hygienically, the breast attachment can be used several times.

We can ship to virtually any address in the world. Note that there are restrictions on some products, and some products cannot be shipped to international destinations. Transit times can vary from country to country and some countries are considered slow transit. (please see below)

Once We Dispatch
PLEASE NOTE: Dispatch time is between 3-5 days. You will receive an email to confirm your order has left our warehouse. Once we have dispatched, unfortunately the time it takes to reach you is out of our control. Delivery times can vary from country to country. We can give you an estimated time only. The postal service we use is ANPOST and we use their transit estimator: http://postage.anpost.ie/transit.asp which gives an estimated transit time from Ireland to your country. Transit times vary according to the size and weight of a package.
Estimated Transit Times
- To Ireland: 1-2 business days after dispatch. Courier transit times are generally 24 hours, max 48 hours.
- To the UK: 2-4 business days after dispatch.
- Within Europe: 3-8 working days after dispatch.
- To other international countries: 5-12 working days after dispatch.

IMPORTANT: It's advisable to order in advance of any personal requirements such as birthday/gift/college course deadlines to allow for dispatch and transit time.
We include your email address and phone number on the postal label so as if there is an issue with delivery, it may be a point of contact for the person delivering. If you wish for this information not to be included on your label, please state this in the Note Section at the time of ordering.

Courier Service: within 32 Counties of Ireland
We offer a delivery service option using courier. Please ensure you provide the correct contact telephone number when ordering so as the courier can reach you upon delivery. The courier will call you before delivery therefore it's important to answer the call. Average Delivery time is between 24-48 hours from the time of dispatch.
Lost or Delayed Packages (Standard Post)
99% of the time, standard post is very effective and efficient. In the event that a customer reports a package undelivered after the estimated time of delivery (http://postage.anpost.ie/transit.asp), we then aim to track the delayed or missing package with ANPOST parcel, "missing parcel investigation". This will ensure we find out where exactly the item is e.g. if it's been delivered and where to. The system has proven very effective for us. Please note: we cannot send out a repeat order/refund until we retrieve the missing item.
Note: The company will not be responsible for missing items should you give postal instruction other than your own address such as "if not in, leave in rubbish bin at back of house" or "leave in neighbour's porch" or any instructions of such nature.
Delayed Packages could be due to a slow transit country. This can vary according to customs and post office policies in each country. In our experience, the following countries can take longer than 12-26 days: Germany, Italy, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Middle Eastern countries, South Africa, India and Pakistan.
We cannot file a missing parcel claim until this time period has passed as your parcel may still be in transit.
Returned Packages as a result of “Not being picked up” or “Not possible to deliver to customer”.
Should we receive a parcel which has been undelivered and returned to us, we will notify you. In this instance, payment will be required to resend the item. Should you not wish for the item to be resent, credit or a refund will be issued less original shipping charges.
If you wish to return a product you have purchased from our website, please first read all of the sections of our Returns and Refunds customer service pages to ensure your products can be returned and for any specific information pertaining to your purchase.
RETURNS BY POST OR COURIER
Please make sure we receive your returned items, within 14 days from the day you receive them, to be refunded in full via the original payment method.
If you return your purchase after this period but within 28 days, you will be refunded with a Dolans Pharmacy E-Voucher to the value of the returned items.
We are unable to exchange products by post. We do process exchanges in our store, so you may bring your items to our store for an exchange if you wish (see below).
RETURNING TO OUR STORE
Please bring the items you wish to return to our Pharmacy, within 14 days from the day you receive them, to be refunded in full via the original payment method.
If you return your purchase after this period but within 28 days, you may exchange the item for other merchandise or a Dolans Pharmacy Gift voucher to the value of the returned items.

RETURNING PRODUCTS OUTSIDE THE RETURNS PERIOD
If you return your purchase by post or courier after the periods outlined above (with the exception of faulty or damaged goods), we reserve the right not to offer you a refund in full.
We may instead return your purchase to you. Prior to sending it, you will be charged the delivery fee applicable to the products and your location.
Our refund policy does not affect your statutory rights in respect of faulty or damaged goods.
PROOF OF PURCHASE
No refund or exchange will be given without a receipt, dispatch note or other proof of purchase.
TAKING CARE OF OUR GOODS
You will naturally wish to inspect the products you order. However, whilst you are deciding whether to keep your purchases, you do have a statutory duty to take reasonable care of the goods.
Therefore, please ensure you do not damage the items (or the packaging where it forms part of the goods, for example, boxed products and gift items) and, if you wish to return anything, that it reaches us in perfect condition.
Where you have failed to take reasonable care of the goods, whether whilst in your possession or when returning them, we reserve the right to refund you in full less any amount due by way of compensation, to either repair the goods or to cover any loss.
Products that cannot be returned.
The following items cannot be returned within the terms of our refund policy:
- Dolans Pharmacy Gift Vouchers
- Pierced earrings
- Made-to-measure goods (such as personalised giftware)
- Products that have been reduced or that are part of a sale.
- Free items
Other items may be added to this list from time to time. This does not affect your statutory rights in respect of faulty, incorrect or damaged goods.
In addition, the following items can only be returned within our refund policy providing it is in its original condition (including the packaging where it forms part of the goods, for example, boxed goods and gift items) and for hygiene or safety reasons have not been worn, opened, assembled or used and any seals on the product remain unbroken:

REFUNDING DELIVERY CHARGES
Provided you have notified us in writing that you wish to cancel your order under the Consumer Contract Regulations, and the return also meets the terms of our Online Returns & Refund Policy, you will be entitled to a full refund including delivery charges if applicable.
We are unable to provide a refund of the delivery charges when only part of your order is being cancelled.
PROMOTIONAL DISCOUNTS AND RETURNS
If you used a promotional discount when paying for your order, the discount is applied to each item in the basket. In the event of a return, you will not be refunded the discounted amount.
