Description
Nutcessity’s Gingerbread Almond Nut Butter is fruity, tangy and slightly sweet – we use dried apricots to sweeten, but don’t add any sugar (or oil). Because we use pumpkin seeds, almonds and apricot, this product is high in iron. Made with ground ginger and ground cinnamon, our stone-ground nut spreads have a smooth, but slightly coarse texture which we’d describe as being on the smoother end of ‘crunchy’ and ‘smooth’.
About the Producer
Nutcessity was founded by me, Mike, in late 2016. Since 2011, when I first tasted tree-nut butter (I’m allergic to peanuts), I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect nut butter blend that tastes good and makes me feel good. In the end I started my own company!
We make organic, coconut-based, premium nut butters that contain no added sugar, oil or peanuts. They are essentially a stone-ground ‘trail-mix’ containing five ingredients: nuts, seeds, coconut, fruit and salt. Our Date & Walnut won a Great Taste award in 2019 and is especially creamy, with the perfect hint of sweetness and saltiness. It’s also high in omega-3.
Nutcessity is also the first plastic-free certified nut butter company in the UK. It’s important to us that our jars can easily be used again and again: the labels are simple to remove and contain no plastic whatsoever. We also support our charity partner, FRANK Water, by donating at least 1% of profits to them each year, whilst supplementing this with fundraising drives periodically.
